HELP the CAP BRIDGNORTH debt centre TO REACH

£12,000

If we can reach £12,000, Aviva Insurance will give us a further £12,000.

With £24,000 we can do a whole load of good for those caught in the debt trap!

The Appeal...

Please can you help us raise £12,000
to keep our debt centre running?

  • Around 1 in 5 people are living in poverty in the UK in 2021/2022, according to government statistics; or 14.4 million people, including roughly 4.2 million children.
  • That equates to 2,400 people in Bridgnorth alone – and more than 17,000 across South Shropshire.  And these harrowing figures were captured before the cost of living crisis took its toll on the country.

Yet, our debt centre was at risk of closure only 2 years ago.  Just as the cost of living crisis means the Bridgnorth Food Bank is critical, so too is the CAP Bridgnorth Debt Centre.

  • In the past 2 years, we have helped 56 families tackle their unmanageable debt
  • 20 are now totally debt free … and their lives are transformed and hope has returned
  • 16 more are currently working their way out of debt.  We also run money management courses for all

Will you help us secure the future of the CAP Bridgnorth Debt Centre?

Every donation you make will be matched by Aviva until 14th August,
up to an individual value of £250.

So if you can afford a fiver, Aviva will double that to a tenner.  If you can spare £20, we will get £40.  And, if you’re feeling extra flush and generous, a gift of £250 would be doubled to £500 … roughly the amount it costs to run our centre for a week.

Whatever amount you’re able to give will be very gratefully received and we will put it to good use for the benefit of the most needy in our community.

Bless you and thank you!

Luna's Story...

I felt trapped in my debt and alone with the worry and stress, I kept burying my head (and the debt) in the sand.

I am a single mum to four children and a Uni student. I found myself in debt after my marriage broke down in 2018. I felt trapped in my debt and alone with the worry and stress, I kept burying my head (and the debt) in the sand.

When I finally reached out for help, CAP were great. I was assigned to Mark and Zara. They were brilliant and patient, I hid my disabilities really well from them to begin with, when I was honest about my life and situation they were understanding and very empathetic.

Although for me, as my circumstances kept changing (working hours and student life) I kept setting my CAP plan back, but not once did Mark or Zara fatigue from the consistence in their professional care to me or my children, for that I am forever thankful.

I highly recommend the CAP money management course. The CAP money course made money managing simple and easy. I am now debt free thanks to CAP. I am still learning to manage my money better and still use the skills I learned from the CAP course. It would be a great thing to implement in schools 😉 as my children, I believe, would benefit from this as would many. I think maybe if this had been taught in schools when I was younger, I’d have had a better understanding as a 34 year old woman! So again thank you to all those in the CAP team for everything.

Kerry's Story...

Not only did CAP free me from debt, they freed me in myself from fear.

CAP Debt Centre Logo Bridgnorth

Nearly two years ago I was in dire debt with rent, council tax, finance company, friends and family. I was put in touch with CAP who worked very hard to help me. I didn’t always make it easy, but they never gave up on me, which I thank God they didn’t.

Today I am debt free.

No more looking over my shoulder, not scared to answer my door any more. Not only did CAP free me from debt, they freed me in myself from fear. I can’t be more grateful to them if I tried.

CAP Bridgnorth is a friendly, informative and hugely helpful service. Mark and Zara are incredibly supportive to everyone who asks for any level of help, even if they just ask them a question.
